Public Forests Centennial

The 100 year anniversary of the Fulton Report about BC forestry comes at an important time in BC’s history. Can century-old ideas offer some solutions today for a struggling forest sector? The British Columbia Forests Society believes that we can do better in BC. The start to the answer is to keep our forests under public ownership, and have people and community take on the responsibility for forest stewardship.

Can you see the opportunities that could come from sharing the forests around your community with your neighbours, through a Forest Trust?  If we as citizens were responsible for BC’s forests, we could work to manage all resources for social, economic and environmental well-being. And our forests could be better integrated into the fabric of our communities.
